Move over Pandemic, the Vagabond Theatre Company is preparing for a safe and fun week teaching kids about theatre! It's hard to hold a good program down and we're doing our best to make sure camp is a go this year. Following government guidelines (and more, just to be safe), our camp will be structured with safety for children, instructors, counselors, and family in mind. Groups of no more than 10 children per instructor will follow social distancing guidelines during sessions and lunch; and sanitizing stations will be available with children (and adults) being taught proper handwashing and sanitizing techniques as part of our 2020 camp curriculum. May 2019 is turning out to be quite mysterious and our production cast and crew have been working hard on their upcoming stage presentation, Sherlock Holmes by Tim Kelly. Written and adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective story, Sherlock Holmes by Tim Kelly combines mystery, romance, action, danger, and laughter and is sure to be right up your sleuthing alley so please join us for some on-stage adventure at the 3rd Avenue Theatre!
Show dates and times are Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 PM; Friday, May 10th at 7:00 PM; and a matinee performance on Saturday, May 11th at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $17.00/adults & $15.00/seniors & students and are available for purchase at Reavie's Pharmacy in Russell, MB or Rob's Place in Binscarth, MB. This year's theme is "Inspector Vagabond" and we're working hard to make sure you work hard to figure out how to escape. Don't be left scratching your head by not bringing clever friends to help - we suggest a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 players for the best chance at success. The Inspector Vagabond Escape Room will be open for bookings for four months this year - May, June, July, and August. Please contact us by Facebook message to book your session. By popular demand, Vagabond Theatre Co's production of The Ladies Foursome (a comedy by Norm Foster) is hitting the road to perform in various local theatres. We are very proud those who are taking the time and commitment to do this and we are honoured to be welcomed by neighbouring theatres! Summer of 2018 will be busy for the 3rd Avenue Theatre crew with mysterious sets in June, July, and August; and plenty of fun-filled children's acting lessons and experience in August.
First, the trendy Escape Room adventure is currently under construction! Our crew has been working hard to create a timed physical puzzle for your enjoyment. Challenge the room by yourself, with a trusted and clever buddy, or bring a small group of like-minded friends to face the adventure together. The Escape Room will be available by appointment only during the months of June, July, and August 2018 at the 3rd Avenue Theatre in Binscarth, MB. This cryptic game can be booked through a Facebook message and is sold by blocks of time at $15.00 per person for 30 minutes, and $20.00 per person for 60 minutes. So if you're craving some thought provoking entertainment this Summer, just send a message via our Facebook Page and we can get started at setting you up with more information and a date and time. We look forward to seeing you challenge our first annual Escape Room! Second, our very popular annual Actin' Up Musical Theatre Camp will be rocking Binscarth's 3rd Avenue Theatre from August 20 - 24, 2018! Children ages 6 to 16 are welcome to register for over 30 hours of instruction in drama, dance, and vocals. This week of kids-only musical theatre training is available at a base rate of $200 per student with an optional lunch fee of $40 for the week (please see form for break down of costs). Early registrants will receive a $10 discount if registered by July 16, 2018 and you may click here to download/print the registration form. This event has been so much fun in past years and we're looking forward to presenting it again... and again... and again! The Vagabond Theatre Company is proud to present its first theatre production of 2018, The Ladies Foursome, a comedy by Norm Foster. Inspired by Foster's play, The Foursome, this version features four women that meet for a round of golf after attending the wake of a friend. Over the course of 18 holes, they discuss love, sex, family, and more.
Word has it that the production team and actors are having a lot of fun with this one! Shows will be held at the 3rd Avenue Theatre in Binscarth, MB on Friday, April 6th; Saturday, April 7th; and Friday, April 13th. Doors open at 7:30 (CST) and shows start at 8:00 pm (CST).
