This youth production is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the 1920s gangster flick, Bugsy Malone, Jr.. It promises and delivers big musical numbers, flapper fashions, fedoras, speakeasies, and loads of laughs! It seems Fat Sam who runs one of the most popular clubs in town, is in danger of being closed down by his “business rival” Dandy Dan. Enter baby-faced Bugsy Malone, a killer with the ladies and a definite asset to Fat Sam. Unfortunately, Bugsy has also caught the eye of Sam’s girlfriend Tallulah – though he’s set his designs on showgirl Blousey Brown…

By Norm Foster
The Manitoba Theatre Centre's touring program is presenting The Melville Boys by Canadian playwright Norm Foster. Lee and Owen Melville arrive at a lakeside cabin for a relaxing weekend of fishing and brotherly bonding. Before they can open their tackle boxes, their plans are not-so-rudely interrupted by the arrival of two attractive, but very different sisters. Norm Foster shows why he's so often compared to Neil Simon with this funny and tender play about four lost people who help each other find their way.
Norm Foster also wrote the Foursome which Vagabond performed in 2008 to rave reviews.

This melodrama is about the widows Doris, Ester and Lucille, who's husbands died one after another in just a few years. The widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husband's graves. The 3 friends in their 50s react quite differently on the deaths. But they make it a habit to meet every year at the graves of their husbands.
Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life, Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun, and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene.

Inspector Colin Richardson is given the job of protecting the former girlfriend of a convict who has escaped swearing vengeance on her. As the convict gets closer to her apartment she and the Inspector, to pass the time, discuss the crime for which he was convicted.
